Prior to founding Stampede Pictures Karl Horstmann had an extensive background in both production and post-production. During a seven-year tenure at Turner Studios, he functioned as producer and director on numerous national commercials and network packaging campaigns.
Stampede Pictures was originally founded as a commercial production company specializing in efects laden spots and title sequences. Karl has directed projects for Coca-Cola, U.S. Army, NASCAR, NBA, Major League Baseball, NFL, Under Armour, Smith and Wesson, Chevrolet and scores of others. His hard-hitting and often direct approach to the material coupled with his uncompromising attention to detail has been the foundation for his success.
Karl's long format projects include a full length documentary for the Richard Childress Race Team and Dale Earnhardt; numerous platinum selling concert music DVD's for various acts; three full-length faith-based specials for DirecTV hosted by Darryl Waltrip, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and others. Narratively, Karl's first short film, "Cliche", won film festivals and was licensed for distribution by Universal Pictures. His second short film, Max Lucado's, "Wherever You Are" was released in the faith-based market by Word Entertainment and widely released by Lion's Gate, in 2008.
Currently Karl has numerous feature film projects and television properties in various stages of development.
